about me

My name is Katie and I was born and raised in a small town called Mayville, WI. It was a wonderful place to grow up, but too cold, so after graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, I moved to Hawaii with the love of my life to Lanai City for 14 months, and then lived in Kihei, Maui for two years. Everything was a perfect fit, but it was too far away. We thought moving to Minnesota (where my husband Bill is from) would be good for us….until the first winter came. Therefore, I married Bill in St. Paul, MN and after ONE long, cold winter, then we headed south.  Me, Bill, Sven and Olie (our dogs) currently live in Atlanta and we love it, but part of our hearts will always remain in Hawaii.

I am a spiritual person who believes in God and I have a deep respect for my wonderful family and great friends. There are many different aspects to my life, but Hawaii is where I was introduced a little thing called…yogaJ Yoga is something I really enjoy and feel passionate about, because it helps me create balance with my physical and mental self, along with offering maximum health benefits. In the fall I will begin the classes to become a certified yoga instructor, so be prepared to read about my journey starting in October! Other interest of mine include  art, writing, wellness, fitness, philosophy, hiking, biking, laughing, reading, wine, musicals, meeting interesting people and enjoying life. I believe there are no coincidences, and it is a unique and beautiful thing to learn from the people you meet and experiences to appreciate the present and learn for the future.

Each journey is like a snowflake...all different but exquisite in their own way. I want to take you on some of my daily voyages, experiments, travels and goals. Welcome to my journey – what’s yours?

Some of my Rules:
Open your mind to many experiences and you will expose yourself to many perspectives...so far I am the biggest fan of the optimist.

Live passionately. Hold nothing back. Embrace the true you.

Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.
